A pleasantly tropical destination, the Cape Verde islands benefit from average annual
temperatures of between 26°C and 30°C. Holidays to Cape Verde offer long, uninterrupted sunshine
hours and low humidity, meaning many people return time and time again. And, with higher winds
between November and March, larger waves can be found on some of the islands, which proves
particularly popular with water sport enthusiasts.
Festivals and Music
- Boa Vista Festivals
There are a few festivals on the island including the common music festival that takes place on
Santa Cruz in August. The other main colourful festival is:
Santa Isabel (Municipality Day) 4 July
The day of Santa Isabel, the patron saint of the island. Celebrated with processions, swimming,
horse racing, tours and a public ball. 2. - Sal Festivals
The following are just a couple of festivals that take place on Sal:
Nossa Sra. De Piedade (Our Lady of Pity) 15th August
Mass, processions, swimming contests and music festival on beach with local musicians.
Santa Maria Festival/Municipality Day, September

aground here in 1968 while sailing to Brazil, and today the rusting wreck provides one of the best
photo opportunities in the archipelago. - Explore the Viana Desert – An additional popular stop on our tours of Boa Vista, and easily
combined with a visit to the shipwreck, the Viana Desert is another of the island’s most

that have blown across the Atlantic from the Sahara Desert, and are ready to give visitors
their Lawrence of Arabia experience!
